Recorded in concert at the Jazzhus Montmartre in Copenhagen in October 1969, and released four years later by JAPO, a label that was part of ECM. All eight tracks are Ibrahim originals, and they are played as one continuous piece. It was his second solo piano album, after Reflections (1965). The LP appeared under the name Dollar Brand, and ECM first issued it on CD in 1991.

AllMusic judged that Ibrahim was still finding his own sound, though his improvisations had interesting moments. The Penguin Guide to Jazz said the 1991 CD took away some of the music's full-hearted resonance.
