Hello There

The two-minute opener of At Budokan, with the crowd already screaming.
Cheap Trick, from At Budokan (1979)

Written by

Released

Album
At Budokan

Hello There first appeared on In Color. On At Budokan it runs 2:27 and opens the record. Ultimate Classic Rock's Zaleski ranked it eighth among their songs, hearing screaming fans under a two-minute show-opening ripper with razor-edge riffs, a frenzied drum solo and the line asking whether you would like to do a number with me. She called it the sound of a band exploding into its own. Goodnight Now, also on the album, is a live, show-closing variation of it. A re-recorded 1997 version with Steve Albini appeared as a playable song in Rock Band 2 in 2008.
