Uncontrollable Urge

Uncontrollable Urge opens Q: Are We Not Men? A: We Are Devo! Early versions were in the live set by February 1977, when a set at The Crypt in Akron included it among songs such as Praying Hands, Be Stiff and Mongoloid. Devo played it on Don Kirshner's Rock Concert in 1979, alongside Blockhead, Secret Agent Man and Mongoloid.

The track has since turned up in a number of films and television programs, including The Wolf of Wall Street, Fun with Dick and Jane, Outer Banks, Ridiculousness and Jackass. On 14 February 2025 Devo played it on the SNL50: The Homecoming Concert special, with Fred Armisen on drums.
