Omar Hakim played drums on most of the record, and Sting added a guest vocal. It spent 14 weeks at number one in Britain and nine in America, and was reported as the first CD to sell a million copies. Q's Rob Beattie called it a singularly melancholic collection. The tour that followed ran to 248 shows and ended in Sydney in April 1986.
