The third track on side one of Time, written and produced by Jeff Lynne and recorded in the album sessions at Musicland in Munich in 1981 by the four-piece of Lynne, Bevan, Tandy and Groucutt. In the album's story it is where the man taken from the 1980s meets a gynoid in the year 2095. It was never a single.
David Bennun of The Quietus puts it among the album's rock and roll blasters and finds its fembot lyric prescient about technology. Igloo Magazine's Tom Herdman hears it predicting the human love affair with technology, Sputnik Music hears Video Killed the Radio Star in it, and the fan site ELO España groups it with Twilight as powerful synthesizer pop with science fiction lyrics. Brian Paone's novel Yours Truly, 2095 is heavily inspired by the album.
Live
ELO played it 71 times, all on the Time tour, from Austin in September 1981 to Munich in March 1982. Jeff Lynne's ELO has never played it. The upload in the hypersongs web is the album version.
