Play on hypersongs

Gil's third album was made on four tracks while he was barred from leaving Salvador. He recorded his voice and guitar at Estúdio J.S. there, while Rogério Duprat, who arranged and directed it, recorded the band in São Paulo and Rio, with horn arrangements by Chiquinho de Moraes. Cérebro Eletrônico, Futurível and Vitrines came from the Deodoro barracks, where Gil recalled a sergeant offering him a guitar about three weeks into his imprisonment. Aquele Abraço was the last song added, and the album's only single.

AllMusic's John Bush called it one of Gil's most experimental records to that point. A remastered 1998 CD added the full-length Aquele Abraço, two demos and other bonus tracks, and Universal reissued it on blue vinyl in 2024.
