The tenth track on Isolation Drills is a Robert Pollard song, released as the album's second single on 9 July 2001. Its roots go back to 1994, when an early version with only the refrain was recorded, possibly as an Alien Lanes outtake. Demos, one of them with the full band, came out in 2021 on Rockathon's Broadcaster House sets. On the album Pollard sings over the guitars of Doug Gillard and Nate Farley, with Tim Tobias on bass and Jim Macpherson, whose relentless double-time drumming Medialoper singled out.

Its chorus line was enough to earn a nomination for High Times' Pot Song of the Year. Pitchfork praised its poppy sing-along, Jim Connelly of Medialoper called it perhaps the most joyous-sounding song Pollard has recorded, and Diffuser ranked it tenth among the band's best, suggesting it could have been their ticket to commercial success. Jason Hernandez of The Constant Bleeder writes that its video was the only one TVT made for the band, and that it set out to hide the band's age behind a digital effect.

Live

First played in August 2000, months before release, it has been performed more than 360 times, the seventh most played song in the band's catalogue, with a peak of 54 shows in 2001. They played it on Open Mic with Mike Bullard in Toronto in April 2001 and at the Austin City Limits taping in 2004. Pollard's side project Cash Rivers and the Sinners cut a country version in 2018. The upload in the hypersongs web is the official music video.
