Green

Eight synthesizer pieces, one of Yoshimura's own favourites, and the record that led many listeners to him.
Hiroshi Yoshimura, 1986

Released
1986
Recorded
1985-86
Label
AIR Records

Recorded over the winter of 1985 on Yamaha synthesizers, a DX7 among them. The American CD on Sona Gaia was remixed with rain and birdsong, while the Japanese vinyl kept the mix Yoshimura preferred. FACT credits a YouTube rip of the CD version with his revival. Light in the Attic's WATER COPY reissue in 2020 restored the original mix. AllMusic gave it 4.5 out of 5, Pitchfork 8.8, and Crack placed it first among seven essential Japanese ambient records.
