The EP was recorded and mixed over three days at The Plant Studios, after Newsom cancelled three consecutive shows because she had lost her voice at the end of a seven-week US tour. It holds one new song, Colleen, and fresh arrangements of Clam, Crab, Cockle, Cowrie and Cosmia. The title puns on Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band, and the cover is a photograph by William Eggleston.
