The third track on New York was its single and spent four weeks at number one on the newly created Billboard Modern Rock Tracks chart. Dion DiMucci sings backing vocals. Rolling Stone's Anthony DeCurtis described it in 1989 as the story of a Hispanic child growing up in a welfare hotel, and Pitchfork's Daniel Felsenthal later singled out the abused young Pedro of this three-chord single.
