Comicopera is Wyatt's ninth and final studio album. It was released on CD and on double vinyl, with a poem etched into the fourth side, which carries no music. It was recorded in Wyatt's house and in Phil Manzanera's recording studio, and it features Brian Eno, Paul Weller, Gilad Atzmon and Manzanera among many others. The sixteen tracks fall into three acts: Lost in Noise, The Here and the Now, and Away With the Fairies. Del Mondo is a cover from Ko de mondo, the second album by the Italian band Consorzio Suonatori Indipendenti.
It was his first release on Domino, which reissued the rest of his catalogue the following year. Like Shleep before it, The Wire named it record of the year in its critics' poll.
