Ice Caps: Peaks of Telluride

Bush recorded Ice Caps at the Telluride Bluegrass Festival, with Bela Fleck, John Cowan and Jerry Douglas among the players. A review on No Depression, dated August 2000, noted the covers of Bob Dylan's Girl of the North Country, John Hiatt's Memphis in the Meantime, Lowell George's Sailin' Shoes and Van Morrison's Hungry for Your Love. It also described treatments that run from solo performances to expansive instrumentals to full rockers.

The same review linked the instrumental Allman Watson, a reference to Duane Allman and Doc Watson, to the shape of Bush's music: a footing in tradition driven by an aggressive, dynamic sensibility. The reviewer called the album a mid-career retrospective in the absence of a full New Grass Revival compilation.
