The American edition came out on London in July 1965, with Dave Hassinger and Ron Malo as engineers, and went to number one on the Billboard 200 and Platinum. It includes The Last Time, Satisfaction, Play with Fire and The Spider and the Fly. The British edition, from Decca on 24 September 1965, reached number two and swaps in She Said Yeah, Talkin' 'Bout You, Heart of Stone and I'm Free.

Garry Mulholland of Uncut called the UK edition a primitive template for what would later be tagged blue-eyed soul.
