Released on UK Records in 1974, it was the most successful single from Sheet Music and reached number ten in the UK and number two in the Netherlands. It sets a classic rock riff against lyrics about Wall Street and the economy, with several topical cultural references. Stewart played lead guitar, pianos, Mellotron and organ and sang, Creme played rhythm guitar, Gouldman played bass and acoustic and rhythm guitars, and Godley played drums and percussion. Record World called it an economic dance lesson that was sure to break the band into the top 40. Anni-Frid Lyngstad of ABBA recorded a Swedish version, Guld och gröna ängar, with lyrics by Owe Junsjö, on her 1975 album Frida ensam.
