The thirteenth studio album was co-produced by the song collaborators Marti Frederiksen and Mark Hudson. It debuted at number two on the Billboard 200 with over 240,000 copies in its first week and was certified Platinum within a month. Its first single, Jaded, became a Top 10 hit in the United States and abroad, and the title track appeared in Dodge commercials. The cover, by Hajime Sorayama, shows a gynoid resembling Marilyn Monroe. Liv Tyler whispers on Avant Garden, and Joe Perry sings lead on Drop Dead Gorgeous.
It was nominated for three Grammys in 2001, including Best Rock Album. Metacritic gives it 65 out of 100 from 14 critics. Erlewine of AllMusic found it tighter, savvier and better than anything since Pump, but short of memorable, while David Fricke of Rolling Stone called it the closest the band had come to a great album since Rocks. Perry said in 2010 that it was his least favorite Aerosmith record, because all five members were never in the room at the same time.
