Recorded in the Hôtel Mandé sessions in Bamako in 2004, with Pee Wee Ellis, Bassekou Kouyaté, Little George Sueref and Afel Bocoum among the players. Touré said he knew it was his best album ever. It came out in July 2006, after his death, scored 94 on Metacritic and 8.1 at Pitchfork, received five stars in the Guardian and the Observer, and topped the World Music Charts Europe from September to November 2006. Christgau gave it one star. It was nominated for a Grammy.
