It first appeared on the band's self-titled 2002 EP, and was re-recorded in 2006 for Neon Bible with Markus Dravs credited as co-producer. The single came out on 23 July 2007, the fourth from the album, at 5:39. It reached 85 in the UK, 39 in Ireland and 47 on the Canadian rock chart. The title comes from a solo project of the former member Brendan Reed.

At the Hackney Empire in London on 7 July 2010, Butler jokingly called it Yes Boats Yes. It was used by Fox in its coverage of Super Bowl XLII, and the band said it had considered legal action, claiming it had not given permission. It also appears in Love the Beast (2009), Saltburn (2023) and Top Gear.
