Sexuality

Sexuality is the ninth track on Don't Try This at Home and the album's first single. It reached 27 on the UK singles chart and 2 on the US alternative chart. Bragg wrote it with Johnny Marr, who plays guitar and keyboards on it and produced it with Grant Showbiz. It is an anti-homophobia and generally sex-positive song. Cara Tivey, Amanda Vincent, J. F. T. Hood, Jody Linscott and James Eller also play, and Kirsty MacColl sings backing vocals.

The video was conceived and directed by the comedian Phill Jupitus, who appears in it alongside MacColl. David Quantick of NME called the record the funniest and most determined of the week when it came out. Jupitus has performed a parody version with Bragg called Bestiality. In November 2021 Bragg wrote a reworded version in support of transgender rights.
