In My Head
The last studio album, which Ginn meant as his first solo record.
Black Flag, 1985

- 1985
- Label
- SST Records
In My Head was the sixth and final studio album before the 1986 split. Ginn intended it as his first solo album. The cover is a collage of six Pettibon drawings that SST cut up and used without his permission, after which Pettibon cut ties with the label. Dave Tarling engineered and Michael Boshears mixed.
Reviews were strong. Robert Palmer of the New York Times found the music intriguingly and sometimes dazzlingly fresh, and praised the guitar of White Hot. Sounds gave it a full score. Louder Sound later called it one of the group's finest albums. Of Loose Nut, also released in 1985, Spin wrote that Black Flag really deserved to be bigger than Thriller.
