- Producer
- Spot, Greg Ginn and Bill Stevenson
Slip It In was recorded in a short break from the My War tour, in a year when the band released three full-length albums. The record draws on metal, hardcore, blues rock and jazz, and Obliteration is an instrumental showing off Ginn's chords. The cover is a Pettibon drawing of a nun embracing a bare male leg. Roessler later said that after seeing it she realized the band certainly did not glorify women. Suzi Gardner and Davo Claassen sing backing vocals on the title track, which also got a low-budget video.
Trouser Press found the songs built on trite riffs. Brandon Sideleau of Punknews called the album a classic and a landmark for independent music, and defended the title track as raunchy but not sexist.
