The title means My Friend. It is older than Nomad: there is a version on the 2004 Agamgam desert recordings and an acoustic one on Guitars from Agadez Vol. 2, whose intro PopMatters heard as close to American blues. In Nashville it became a bluesy riff over a rock beat with organ, handclaps and a chanted chorus, and KEXP said it rolled like a desert sandstorm.

Live

It opened and closed his Newport Folk set in 2013, and the Guardian's Robin Denselow picked it out as a highlight of his London show that spring. That September he played an acoustic version for the Guardian's studio sessions with Ibrahim Atchinguil Emoud on djembe, one of the uploads in the hypersongs web; the other is an audio upload of unconfirmed source. A seven-minute version from Amsterdam in 2019 is on Live in Amsterdam.
