Treble files the album's opener under country gospel hymns. Stereogum's Michael Nelson noted that in it Oldham sings of fading into oblivion as maggots rest on his arm, and that it ends with the line about thanking the world, which will anoint him if he shows it how he holds it. A version called Minor Place, 4:41, is on the live album Is It the Sea? (2008), recorded by the BBC at the Queen's Hall in Edinburgh on the 2006 tour with Harem Scarem and the drummer Alex Neilson.
