Boston's first album for MCA, recorded over six years at Scholz's Hideaway Studio. Scholz produced and engineered it. The sleeve calls it an all-analog recording with no synthesizers, and says the Rockman processor ended up on most of the tracks. A Conn theatre organ is heard on The Launch. Jim Masdea plays drums on most tracks, Sib Hashian on three. Gary Pihl plays co-lead guitar on I Think I Like It.
It topped the Billboard 200 for four weeks, was the first CD-format album certified gold by the RIAA, and reached four times platinum. We're Ready reached number nine and Can'tcha Say (You Believe in Me)/Still in Love number 20, Boston's last Top 40 hit.
