Culture Club, 1984

Released
22 October 1984
Label
Virgin
Producer
Steve Levine

Steve Levine produced the third album, with Phil Pickett on keyboards and Helen Terry among a large group of backing singers. It reached number two in the UK, the band's third top five album, and was certified platinum in the UK and the US and double platinum in Canada. The War Song reached number two in the UK and the US top 20, Mistake No. 3 got to 33 in the US and The Medal Song to 32 in the UK.

Reviews were poor. Smash Hits' Tom Hibbert called it a disaster of mediocrity. AllMusic's Lindsay Planer gave it two stars out of five, while picking out Crime Time and Mannequin as the more interesting cuts.
