Recorded at Starlight Sound in Richmond, with extra work at Unique Recording Studios in New York, Axiom Recorders in Tampa and The Disc Ltd. in Detroit, it was produced by the Underground Production Squad. Clinton, Stretch and Treach appear. It reached 44 on the Billboard 200 and 23 on the R&B albums chart, and went gold on 9 April 1992. Clinton helped write and record the title track and sang on it, one of his earliest studio guest spots on a hip-hop record.

Kiss You Back reached 40 on the Hot 100 and went gold, and No Nose Job reached 28 on the R&B chart. Contemporary Musicians notes the recurring DFLO shuttle, a mythical train carrying Clinton's successors out of the underground, and a cover that nods to Parliament's The Clones of Dr. Funkenstein. Musician praised the fat, spacious grooves, Q gave three stars out of five, and Robert Christgau singled out The DFLO Shuffle and Kiss You Back.
