The back cover carries her handwritten note on the title song, a school photograph and a dedication to her parents. My Blue Tears and Coat of Many Colors were the singles. Robert Christgau gave side one an A minus as genius of a purity rock no longer reached, and it was her first nomination for Album of the Year at the CMA Awards. It has appeared on Rolling Stone's 500 greatest albums lists and at number 11 in NPR's 150 greatest albums made by women.
