Michael Coltun recorded and arranged the album with a mobile studio set up in Abindi's home, in a quick session over a handful of takes, which Pan African Music placed somewhere between a real studio and a pure live recording. Seth Manchester mixed it at Machines with Magnets and Amy Dragon mastered it at Telegraph Mastering, with Christopher Kirkley as creative director. Abindi wrote four of the ten songs, Illa four and Allamine two. It came out on LP with a lyric insert, on CD and digitally.

The songs deal with the hardships of nomads and the crossing of the desert toward Europe, delivered with party energy. Mojo gave it four stars, noting that the band lack Mdou Moctar's guitar heroics but make up for it in danceability. Norman Records gave it eight out of ten for guitar soloing that never turns indulgent, and Robert Christgau found it more professional than the debut without being slick. The Wire put Toubouk Ine Chihoussay on a subscriber compilation.
