Mykonos

Mykonos comes from the Sun Giant EP and was written by Robin Pecknold. Bella Union released it as a UK 7-inch and download on 27 January 2009, with a live Tiger Mountain Peasant Song on the B-side, and it reached 51 on the UK Singles Chart. Sub Pop issued it in the United States on 5 May 2009 with False Knight on the Road in that place. An alternate 3:39 version appears on the deluxe edition of the debut album.

Sean Pecknold directed an entirely animated video in which two small origami triangles travel through a world made of paper. Billboard wrote that the second half of the song is salvation for the ears, and The New York Times said there were moments when the band's voices melded into an imperfect swell like a church choir. Setlist.fm logs 409 performances of it. Pecknold found Uwade Akhere, a singer on Shore, after being sent a clip of her singing it.
