The last track on Maggot Brain is a freak-out jam built on paranoid, psychedelic sound effects and crowd sounds. In the Guardian, Stevie Chick described ten minutes of frantic funk in which Clinton glues together cartoon sound effects, news broadcasts, screams, laughter, explosions, cuckoo clocks and flatulence over Tiki Fulwood's restless rhythms, with Eddie Hazel's guitar and Fulwood's breakbeats holding it together. The only lyrics are drawled phrases about power to the people. Pitchfork described it as a fight to the death between the world's best rhythm section and the sound effects, and noted that Optimo used it on the Psyche Out mix.
Yuval Taylor described it as a burning hot prefiguring of the music Miles Davis played on his 1975 live album Agharta, and Robert Christgau, writing in Blender, called it Funkadelic's most incendiary freak-out ever.
