Issued as Virgin VR5, Afters collects the 1974 single, tracks from both albums and live recordings. Its 6:08 Halfway Between Heaven and Earth is an edit of the band's performance at the Rainbow Theatre in London on 16 March 1975, which had first appeared at 6:22, with a slightly longer introduction, on the live album Over the Rainbow. Five of the Afters tracks, Halfway among them, became bonus tracks on Virgin's 1987 and 1992 CDs of The Rotters' Club.
