Clouds is the second track on Music for Nine Post Cards, recorded by Yoshimura at home on keyboard and Fender Rhodes. In his liner notes the movements of clouds come first in the list of things that inspired the album, ahead of summer shade, rain and snow in a town. The album was written as environmental music for the Hara Museum of Contemporary Art, to be played at nine points around the building.
The upload in the hypersongs web is a fan upload of the 1982 studio recording, posted in May 2016, before the album had been released outside Japan.
