The lead single from The Predator, credited to Ice Cube featuring Don Jagwarr, came out on 3 November 1992 on Priority. It was recorded in 1992 at Echo Sound in Glendale and produced by Torcha Chamba and Cube, with lyrics by Cube and Duane Earle, who rapped as Don Jagwarr. It opens with the line April 29 was power to the people, and we might just see a sequel, a reference to the Los Angeles riots. It was the first Cube single to enter the Hot 100, where it peaked at 55, and the RIAA certified it gold on 23 March 1993. Marcus Raboy directed a video starring Anthony Kiedis and Flea of the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
Korn recorded a version with Chino Moreno of Deftones on their album Life Is Peachy, released on 15 October 1996. Cube later appeared on their song Children of the Korn, and on the 1998 Family Values Tour he joined their set to perform both Wicked and Children of the Korn. Limp Bizkit has also covered it in concert.
