The team arrived in Tamanrasset in March 2020 for about a month: a week treating the rooms, then three weeks recording, mostly live. Maxime Kosinetz engineered, co-produced with Patrick Votan, and mixed in Paris. Guests include Japonais on Tamiditin, Abdallah Ag Alhousseyni of Tinariwen, Sulafa Elyas, Marco Ngoni on guembri, and Gruff Rhys, singing in Welsh on Adar Newlan.

PopMatters gave it nine out of ten and found the band more poised than ever. Loud and Quiet gave it eight and heard a far more introspective record, and Songlines gave it five stars.
