Temet means connections in Tamasheq, and the album was framed as a call for unity across cultures. Most of it was worked up in Tamanrasset before the band recorded in Paris in early 2017, with Adrien Soleiman on keyboards and Eyadou Ag Leche credited as part of the band. The CD and LP came with lyric booklets in Tamasheq and English. The first single, Azzaman, arrived in November 2017 with a video shot in Algiers, and the videos for Tamudre and Ma S-Abok came from Vincent Moon's Children of Tam.

Songlines rated it four out of five and found it even more adventurous than the debut, and the Financial Times heard fiery, bluesy political tunes.
