The title means "What a pity, she doesn't like me any more", and the song treats heartbreak with a shrug and a groove. Gal Costa recorded it for her 1969 debut solo album, produced by the same Manoel Barenbein, flipping the pronoun to "he"; that version was a hit, and several sources describe it as a duet with Caetano Veloso, though the album's credits do not make this clear. Ben's own recording, with Trio Mocotó, sits near the end of his 1969 album and keeps the original "ela". Rolling Stone Brasil counts it among his most covered songs, with versions by César Camargo Mariano, Joanna and Paulo Ricardo. In concert it usually ends a medley.
