Dream closes the live Between Nothingness & Eternity, taken from the Central Park shows of August 1973. McLaughlin composed it, and the band had already cut a studio version at Trident in London that June, which stayed in the vault until The Lost Trident Sessions in 1999.

Walter Kolosky wrote that it is often cited as one of the best of all Mahavishnu explorations. He singled out the extensive unison playing and a guitar and drum duel between McLaughlin and Billy Cobham that he thought might be the most exciting ever put on record, and he wrote that at several points the hairs on the back of your neck stiffen.

The Dance of Maya, Birds of Fire, One Word, Planetary Citizen
