Iron Fist

Iron Fist was the last album by the Lemmy, Clarke and Taylor line-up. The band began recording with Vic Maile at his Jackson's Studio in 1981, but Maile left the project, and accounts differ on why. In one, Clarke was unhappy with the sessions and wanted the band to record themselves. In another, Taylor refused to work with Maile after an unsatisfactory drum sound. Clarke produced it, recording in late January and February 1982 at Morgan Studios and Ramport Studios in London.

The title-track single entered the UK chart on 3 April 1982 and peaked at 29. The album followed in April 1982 and reached number 6. Clarke's last engagement with the band was at the New York Palladium on 14 May 1982.
