Sean Watkins wrote and sings lead on the song, one of three Nickel Creek recordings he wrote alone, along with Speak and Somebody More Like You. Sara Watkins plays fiddle and sings harmony, Chris Thile plays mandolin and sings harmony, and Byron House plays acoustic bass. It was the first single from the album and peaked at 56 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles and Tracks chart. It has a music video at CMT.
The lyric is about moving to a different way of life, frightened at first and then at ease. The narrator sings that it is foreign on this side and he will not leave his home again, then later that it is foreign on this side but feels like home. setlist.fm ranks it first among their songs, with 201 performances. A live version is on side A of the Fox Theater album.
