A single from Brighten the Corners was released by Domino in 1997, with the catalogue number RUG-051 and the B-sides Westie Can Drum and Winner of The. The chorus line Hi-Ho Silver, Ride refers to the Lone Ranger's catchphrase, and a verse muses on Rush's Geddy Lee.
NME made it single of the week. Ted Kessler wrote that Malkmus was the most wry observer and accomplished wordsmith the US had spawned since Lou Reed. It is the first track on Matador's 10th anniversary compilation.
