The concerts presented songs from every studio album by the Haslam-era band so far, including the then-forthcoming Scheherazade and Other Stories. The New York Philharmonic and choir played under Tony Cox, Carmine Rubino recorded the shows, and Dick Plant mixed them at De Lane Lea Studios in Wembley.
Critics noted that much of it reproduced highlights from the studio albums note for note. It reached 55 in the United States. Haslam introduces Ashes Are Burning as the title track of the group's second album, and the gatefold discography lists only the four albums from Prologue onward, a sign that the Haslam line-up saw itself as a distinct band. Louder called the Song of Scheherazade preview the highlight. Esoteric Recordings reissued it as three CDs on 31 May 2019.
