Thompson had been reluctant to dig through his archives, but he decided that someone was bound to assemble such a set, so he might as well take part. He held a right of veto over the selections and recorded one track, Poor Wee Jockey Clark, specially for it. About a third of the selections are live and five had never appeared on an official Thompson release, among them From Galway to Graceland. The set also includes three tracks from the unreleased, Gerry Rafferty-produced version of Shoot Out the Lights, and a booklet with essays by Greil Marcus and Leslie Berman. Beeswing is not on it.
