Arabian Knights was released by Polydor on 24 July 1981 as the second and final single from Juju and reached number 32 in the UK. The B-side was Supernatural Thing, a Ben E. King song from his 1975 album Supernatural, and the 12-inch added Congo Conga. McGeoch transformed a tune that Siouxsie had written on a Vox Teardrop guitar, originally in waltz rhythm.
Siouxsie said it was quite a thrill to get the word orifices on the radio. The Guardian called the song and Spellbound pop marvels, and Billy Corgan of the Smashing Pumpkins chose it for a BBC radio playlist in December 2014. Paul Roland covered it on his 1992 album Strychnine, Icky Blossoms released it as a single in 2013, and Las Aves played it for French television in 2014.
