Slightly All the Time fills the second side of Third and is a medley of different instrumental pieces. They include Ratledge's Backwards and Hopper's Noisette, and the Discogs entry for the first UK edition lists the side in three parts, with Noisette in the middle. The gatefold names Noisette, while the back cover and the label do not.
Jimmy Hastings makes substantial contributions on flute and clarinet, and Nick Evans adds brief trombone. Backwards later turned up on Caravan's 1973 album For Girls Who Grow Plump in the Night, as part of the A-Hunting We Shall Go medley.
