Hackett wrote it and plays it on nylon-string guitar, opening an album he dedicated to Kim Poor, who showed him the most beautiful place in the world. He recorded the final take at The Town House in London after injuring himself in a collision with a glass door. Genesis-news hears the album's themes as water, wind, weather, waves and landscape.

He first played it live at the University of Warwick on 26 October 1983, the opening night of the Bay of Kings tour, a run of British halls with just his guitar and John Hackett's flutes. setlist.fm logs 55 performances, the latest at Grado in Italy in 2016. The upload in the hypersongs web is the album version.
