Wonder surprise-released the EP on 28 September 2026, exactly 50 years after the album. It collects four songs recorded during the sessions: It's Easier, My Life Story of Love, I Can See the Sun in Late December and I'm Into Livin'. In a press statement Wonder said the songs were not added to the album but were part of what he was feeling and discovering as he made it. The songs were mixed for release by the album's original engineers, John Fischbach and Gary O Adante.

Pitchfork's Stephen Thomas Erlewine reported that the EP appeared at 4:54 AM, the time the original sessions finished, which bassist Nathan Watts marked by shouting Fo'FiftyFo'. Three of the four songs had been known only as rumors. I Can See the Sun in Late December is the exception: Wonder gave it to Roberta Flack for her 1975 album Feel Like Makin' Love and performed it on the German television show Musikladen in 1974. Erlewine heard It's Easier and I'm Into Livin' as built on an analog drum machine. My Life Story of Love was written by Wonder and Susaye Greene.
