Unhappy with the lush production of his debut, he recut four of its songs here almost alone, among them Waiting Around to Die, alongside new songs including Lungs and Colorado Girl. Sol Mednick photographed him at a table in the designer Milton Glaser's kitchen, eyes closed, which gave it its nickname. AllMusic singled out Lungs and None but the Rain.
