10cc, 1978

September 1978
Studio
Strawberry Studios South, Dorking
Label
Mercury
Producer
Eric Stewart and Graham Gouldman

Mercury released it worldwide and Polydor in North America. It was recorded at Strawberry South in Dorking and produced by Stewart and Gouldman. It was the first 10cc studio album by a six-piece band, with songwriting and lead vocals from members other than Stewart and Gouldman, and the first with songs written separately by the two of them. The cover by Hipgnosis shows a map of Martinique being blown into someone's face, with graphics by George Hardie and a photograph by Aubrey Powell. The idea had been offered to Genesis, who rejected it. It was also the first cover to carry the 10cc logo with a star in the zero.

The lead single Dreadlock Holiday, backed with Nothing Can Move Me, went to number one in several countries and helped the album reach number three in the UK. Most countries received Reds in My Bed as the second single, while For You and I was issued in America and From Rochdale to Ocho Rios in Oceania.
