Dancing Drums closes Ananda Shankar and His Music. Scroll described it as Shankar's claim to eternal psychedelic fame. It was on Blue Note's 1996 compilation Blue Juice Vol. 1, and Real World called it, with Streets of Calcutta, an absolute classic of its time. MTV noted that it often cropped up on episodes of the NBC series Outsourced.
