Schwingungen was produced by Rolf-Ulrich Kaiser with Dieter Dierks engineering and artwork by Bernd Bendig. The three pieces are "Light: Look at Your Sun" at 6:20, "Darkness: Flowers Must Die" at 12:20 and the title track at 19:00, in two parts, "Suche" and "Liebe"; some listings give 19:23. No source gives a recording date or studio. Enke played guitar, bass and electronics, Göttsching guitar, organ, electronics and choir, Wolfgang Müller drums and vibraphone, Uli Popp bongos, Matthias Wehler alto saxophone, and John L. vocals, jaw harp and percussion. Progarchives identifies John L. as Manfred Fuchs; Cope says he had recently left Agitation Free.
David Stubbs, quoted on Wikipedia, hears "Light" as heavily inspired by Peter Green's playing on Fleetwood Mac's "Albatross"; the Al Berkowitz Band covered it on a 2009 live album. AllMusic gave the album four and a half stars. A 50th anniversary edition, MG.ART 612, followed.
