What hypersongs collects, why, who sees it, how long we keep it, and how to have it removed. Last updated 24 October 2026.
The short version
You can browse and press play without an account. An account is needed to build threads, talk to the DJs, save tracks and make your own DJs. We collect what the site needs to do those things and nothing more. We do not sell your data and we do not run advertising.
What we collect, and why
- Sign-in. When you sign in we receive your email address through the sign-in service the Realizer Labs sites share, and we hold a handle (the name shown as /yourname) and an account id. We use them to sign you in, show your name on what you make, and send the emails described below.
- What you make. The DJs you create (their description and daily shows), the threads you build (name, tracks, notes and the chat that produced them), the tracks and DJs you save, and the problems you report on a track. They are kept so they work, and a thread or DJ you share can be opened by anyone with its link.
- Plays. Each time a track starts in the player we log the track, the DJ or thread it came from, the time and, if you are signed in, your handle. This feeds the activity column, the counts on the site and our own usage figures.
- Chat. Messages you type to a DJ or in Create are sent, with the context needed to answer (the track, the DJ, the thread, earlier messages), to our AI provider, Anthropic, which writes the reply. If you paste a link into Create, our server fetches that web page and sends its text to the same provider so the reply can use it. Do not paste anything private.
- Email. If you have an account we may send you the daily game email and thread digests. Each carries a way to stop them.
- Usage analytics. Every page loads Google Analytics, which records page views and the browser and device details Google Analytics collects, grouped by section of the site. We do not use it for advertising.
- Cookies and local storage. A first-party cookie keeps you signed in. Your browser also keeps a few settings (theme, your handle for faster loading, which show you last opened) in local storage; they stay on your device. Google Analytics and the YouTube player may set their own cookies.
Who we share it with
- YouTube and Google. Tracks play in the embedded YouTube player. When it loads, YouTube and Google receive your IP address and the usual browser details and may set cookies, under the Google Privacy Policy. Google also provides Google Analytics.
- Anthropic, our AI provider, receives your chat messages and any link text, as above.
- Our hosting and storage (Google Cloud and Firebase, in the United States) hold the site and its database. The services that deliver sign-in and other emails see the address they send to.
- Everyone, when you share. Your handle, the DJs and threads you make public, and the activity column show to other visitors. Your email address is never shown.
We do not sell your personal information, we do not share it for advertising, and we disclose it only to run the site or when the law requires.
YouTube API Services
hypersongs uses YouTube API Services. By using hypersongs you are also agreeing to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google's handling of your data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
Our own use is limited: we check whether a video can be played, and we keep playlists on our own YouTube channel that mirror what the DJs have played. We do not ask you to connect a YouTube account and we do not collect or store other people's YouTube account data.
How long we keep it
We keep your account, what you make and the play log until you ask us to remove them. Sign-in links expire on their own. Analytics data is kept by Google under its own retention settings.
Deleting your data and revoking access
To have your account and everything you made deleted, email kevin@realizerlabs.com from the address you signed in with and say what you want removed; we confirm when it is done. hypersongs never asks you to connect your YouTube or Google account, so there is no YouTube access of yours for us to revoke. To control what Google collects through the embedded player or Google Analytics, use your Google account's data and privacy settings and the Google Privacy Policy.
Your choices
To see what we hold, correct it, or have your account and what you made deleted, email kevin@realizerlabs.com from the address you signed in with. We will answer within a reasonable time. You can stop our emails with the link in any of them. You can clear cookies and local storage in your browser at any time, which signs you out.
Children
hypersongs is not meant for children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you think a child has an account, write to us and we will remove it.
Changes
If we change what we collect or share we will update this page and the date above.
